Many primary care doctors and specialists, prefer to just order a home sleep apnea test directly, without having to complete a consultation with a sleep specialist at Keldik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> When your doctor orders a direct test, they will send us all the information that is needed for the test, our clinic will coordinate the test with you and we will then send the final report back to your doctor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some doctors prefer to just order the test directly, some doctors prefer that you meet with one of our sleep medicine specialists first and we then decide if a test is needed, and some other doctors, order the test directly and then may request a consultation only if the results are abnormal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No particular order or way of doing the test is better than the other, it all depends on your doctor&#8217;s preferences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What do we need for a direct test?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Test order signed\/ordered within the last 6 months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of the office visit or consultation note where the need for the sleep test is mentioned. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This note should be finalized and signed. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some insurance companies have very specific requirements about the content of this note in order for them to cover the cost of the test. Some other insurance companies are more flexible and could be OK with just a copy of a telephone encounter or email\/message. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our team will review the referral note and will let you know if we have any concerns. We will work with your doctor to gather all the information that is needed prior to the test. The main goal of this process is to reduce the risk that your insurance may not pay for the test later on. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insurance information, if you plan to use your medical insurance for this test.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our clinic will also provide some paperwork that is needed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why doing the sleep study with us instead of an online company? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Well&#8230; it is all about quality and having certainty about the credentials and experience of the person interpreting your test.
